It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Gregory in August 2019, one of VIU's most active community leaders. Jane served as Chair of the Board of Governors, Chair of the High School at VIU, Chair of Milner Gardens and Woodland Society, and became a dedicated supporter of the VIU Foundation. In addition to her service to VIU, Jane supported the community in many important roles through the City of Nanaimo, Nanaimo Port Authority and Nanaimo Community Foundation.
Jane's husband Frank passed away in 2000 and was also an active member of the VIU and greater community, serving as an original Foundation board member and former secretary of the Board of Governors. The Jane and Frank Gregory Legacy Endowment has been created in honour of their legacy at VIU. The fund supports Milner Gardens & Woodland, Jane's favourite place to be.
