VIU Milner Gardens and Woodland

Event Cancelled

Fairy Houses 2020:  Please note the Fairy house event has been cancelled this year.  Milner Gardens & Woodland is currently closed to the public until further notice due to Covid 19.

Free parking: The parking lot is located by the Welcome & Interpretive Centre off Hwy 19A. Please prominently display your parking sticker for 4 Accessible Parking stalls. Overflow parking may be on either shoulder of Hwy 19A – please be aware of traffic, follow traffic control instructions & ensure driveways are clear.

Pets:  Only Certified Guide & Service Dogs are permitted on site.  We love pets but please do not leave them unattended in hot vehicles.

Shuttle Cart service:  The Milner driveway is a 0.5 km long, gentle hill of packed gravel which may be challenging for wheelchairs, scooters & walkers.  The open Shuttle Cart service operates along the service road between the Welcome Interpretive Centre to the Pool House Gift Shop cul-de-sac & Milner House.  Shuttle Cart service is prioritized for accessibility needs for anyone able to move unassisted to/from the cart.  Shuttle Carts can accommodate foldable wheelchairs, walkers & strollers. No reservations for Shuttle Cart are required. Please ask a volunteer on-site to request a Shuttle Cart.

Viewing Fairy Houses: Fairy Houses magically appear in the Gardens from the Pool House Gift Shop to the Orchard, … & anywhere in between!  Please stay on the trails or lawn & avoid stepping on the garden beds.  Thank you for not touching or handling the fragile Fairy House displays.

On-site food & beverage:  The Camellia Tea Room is open daily in June from 12:00 – 4:00 pm with drop-in seating for their regular menu.  There are no reservations for Full Afternoon High Tea service when the Fairy Houses are in the Gardens.  For the Fairy Houses event, a special Fairy Tea will be served in the Queen’s Room & Milner House Patio from 12:00 – 4:00 pm.  Fairy Tea is first come/first served with no reservations required. The Pool House Gift Shop sells tea, coffee, scones & cookies, and outside food may be enjoyed on the Pool House Gift Shop Patio & Deck.

Smoking:  Smoking, vaping & e-cigarettes only at the Pool House Gift Shop Cul-de-sac. Cannabis products are prohibited on site.

Washrooms:  Accessible washroom facilities are located at the Welcome & Interpretive Centre, Pool House Gift Shop & Milner House.
